Resources
As a school counselor, it’s important to connect students and families with resources that support their academic, social, and emotional well-being. This page highlights some of my favorite tools and services that can help guide, inform, and empower students and their families throughout the school year.

During my graduate program, I volunteered with Crisis Text Line, dedicating over 200 hours to supporting people in moments of intense stress or emotional crisis. Through this experience, I saw firsthand how powerful and life-saving this service can be, offering immediate, compassionate support to anyone who needs someone to talk to. Because of the impact I witnessed, Crisis Text Line remains one of the most valuable resources I recommend. If I ever feel a student could benefit from confidential, real-time help, I will not hesitate to connect them with this incredible service.

The Child Mind Institute is a great resource for families seeking support because they offer compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to children’s emotional, behavioral, and learning needs. Their team of expert clinicians provide evaluations, guidance, and personalized treatment plans, all while empowering parents with clear information and tools to help their child thrive. Outside of direct services, they also offer an extensive library of online resources, articles, and guides on their website, as well as parent programs designed to teach practical strategies and strengthen family support at home.

Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit organization behind Sesame Street, offers a wide range of high-quality, research-based resources designed to support children’s learning and well-being. Their materials are created in partnership with child development experts and are thoughtfully crafted to help families navigate everyday moments as well as more challenging experiences. Sesame Workshop creates resources primarily for young children, along with tools designed to support the adults in their lives, parents, caregivers, and educators.
